Connect With Others To Get The Support And Accountability You Need

Living the life we were made for rarely happens in a vacuum or within the confines of four walls, without other human contact. As we are fulfilling our calling, our goals, our to-do lists and our responsibilities we are not alone. Wherever we may be in our life’s journey we need others. We need others like us and different from us to support us, be with us, challenge us, and to offer us a different perspective from our own.

I have searched for a female mentor since my mid 20’s and after several years (not too many!) I have a couple of women in my life right now that are contributing to my life as a mentor. It was indeed a gap and now I have an incredible sense of joy and growth in connecting with the right women for where I am at this time in my life. I really could have used these people sooner! But, I honor and appreciate my journey and accept that I am stronger and wiser because of the lessons I have taken from it. Perhaps I have used the lessons as mentors in some way.

“It is amazingly empowering to have the support of a strong, motivated, and inspirational group of people.”  “For some reason, when you become a support to others, you become bigger than you are.”
- Susan Jeffers, from Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway

Where are you at in your journey? As you are working toward fulfilling your personal or professional goals WHO is by your side?  Whom are YOU supporting?

As women we need more than our spouses or partners- while they can be VERY supportive, my belief is that we need at least one other person in our life who believes in what we are doing, who we are and who we are becoming. Perhaps that person is a mentor, life or business coach, colleague, manager, friend, pastor or family member.

List the names of your support team. If you don’t feel you have one, then who can you ask to support you? Name them. Then the next time you see them tell them about your goal or vision for your business, your promotion or big project at work, your role as a parent, your weight loss goal or desire to run a half marathon, or your passion for a particular cause.

Whatever your desires and aspirations are that allow you to be MORE of who you were created to be…get support now. Ready, Set, Launch!
